Enrico Tarenghi
Enrico Tarenghi (1848 – 1938) was an Italian painter. Based in Rome he painted mainly in the orientalist style featuring middle eastern (Islamic) subjects as well as genre art (scenes and events from everyday life).
He worked in oil and watercolour and his works include
‘The Return from Work’ exhibited in Turin in 1880 and ’Prayer by Muslims’ in Milan in 1881. He went on to exhibit two paintings: ‘Abbey of San Gregorio in Venice and ‘Fulvia’, in Rome in 1883. In 1884 he displayed an oil painting: ‘Gelosia’, and a watercolour: ‘The Mother’ in Turin and in Livorno in 1886, he showed ‘Meditazione’.
