M.P. Levene of Kensington
Is an English silverware manufacturer and dealer. It started in 1889 when Pierre Levene set up shop in the Fulham Road as a jeweller and watch-maker that also sold silverware and other objets d’art.
In 1926 they moved to the South Kensington premises of Pierre’s son Maurice who had set up his own shop specialising in silverware and rare postage stamps. Maurice’s son, Colin joined the business in 1953 and expanded it with a large influx of overseas clients. He purchased the premises next door to make one larger shop. Colin was the Managing Director from 1970 until 2014.
Colin’s son Martin joined the business in 1997 making him the fourth generation Levene in the business. They have now given up their South Kensington premises and operate the business from North London mainly via the internet.
They now source antique silver items on request and also produce high quality bespoke silverware.
