Alphonse Leon Noel (1804 – 1884) was a Parisian born French painter, draftsman and lithographer.
He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and entered the workshops of Antoine-Jean Gros and Louis Hersent. He was very prolific and painted more than six hundred portraits throughout his lifetime. in 1855 he was recognised by being promoted to Knight of the Legion of Honour.
