Antique & Vintage Furniture Just Sold – By Regent Antiques
Here at Regent Antiques we take great pride, and quite a lot of pleasure and satisfaction, from sourcing, restoring and offering for sale a wide range of antique and vintage furniture and collectables.
It’s always a pleasure to help our customers to find that special piece that, perhaps, they may have been searching for over a period of time and we’ve been doing that over the last week or so resulting in these fine pieces now having proud new owners.
Let’s start with some fine furniture that we have found proud new owners for, beginning with this Antique Pair of French Marquetry Cabinets or Wardrobes dating from around 1910:
These cabinets are made from a variety of exotic woods including rosewood, tulipwood, kingwood, coromandel, burr elm, burr walnut, macassar ebony, pear, cherry, violet wood, Karelian birch, and they each have wonderful ormolu mounts and exquisite marquetry decoration.
The cabinets are fitted with a pair of very striking marquetry doors, each of which having four panels. These panels each have an elaborate marquetry of flowers, birds and butterflies and are beautifully crossbanded in mother of pearl.
The sides of the cabinets are ebonised and have panels of floral marquetry with parrots and butterflies on a rosewood background whilst the inside of the doors have fabulous rosewood and coromandel borders with panels featuring playful cherubs.
The interior of these fine cabinets is made of Karelian burr, birch, rosewood and mahogany, and there are four shelves in each, removable if required, or for use as wardrobes. The shelves are made of a rare and very attractive African veneer, Bubinga Pomele.
Each cabinet measures as follows: Height 208cm x Width 123cm x Depth 55cm or, if you prefer inches, Height 6 feet, 10 inches x Width 4 feet, 0 inches x Depth 1 foot, 10 inches.
We are confident that the new owners willenjoy these beautiful cabinets for years to come. Next, we say farewell to this Antique Edwardian Marquetry Display Cabinet which was made around 1900:
This lovely cabinet is decorated in fabulous floral marquetry with a pierced brass gallery on top. In addition, it features ormolu mounts, and stands on elegant cabriole legs with sabot feet.
