Creswick & Co
Creswick & Co – were silverware manufacturers based in Sheffield, England. Their first mark of ‘crossed arrows’ was registered in 1811 for Old Sheffield Plate production under the name T.J. & N. Creswick.
The firm showed at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and opened a retail outlet in London in 1852. They continued to be successful producing Sheffield Plate, which was unusual for the time since Elkington’s electroplating process was gaining popularity. They did however, produce items mixing the two techniques from 1852 onwards.
They changed their name to Creswick & Co in 1855 and were later acquired by William Hutton & Sons in 1902 who continued to use their ‘crossed arrows’ trademark.
