Our first example is this Antique French Ormolu Porcelain Mantel Clock which dates from around 1860:

This is an antique French ormolu mantel clock featuring a profusion of Royal Blue porcelain inset panels in the Sevres manner and which also includes a movement which is stamped with a Serial Number: 2337
There are porcelain inset panels on the side and borders of the case which are decorated with gilded swags and swirls and flanked by artichoke gilded finials. The central inset panel is hand painted with a lady dressed in period costume and a cherub enjoying the outdoors. The enamel dial features Roman numerals and has been decorated with a pair of hand painted doves.
The clock has an eight day movement which strikes on the hour and the half hour on a silvered bell, it stands on an elaborately deeply chased acanthus moulded skirt base with gilded mounted toupe feet and is supplied complete with its pendulum, bell and key.

This is an antique French green Boulle mantel clock featuring gilded ormolu mounts and dating from around 1880. The clock’s movement is signed “Charles Frodsham Clock Maker to the Queen, Paris”
and it is numbered: 2798/12-6. The dial features enamelled Roman numerals within gilt surrounds.

Another eye-catching French antique clock, on offer at just £2550, this gilt bronze, mantel clock with a profusion of Roue Blue porcelain panels in the Sevres manner has a movement which carries the Paris retailers and the clock maker mark HP & Co and what we assume to be their serial number 1582with the notation 63 inside an oval.
This attractive and decorative clock has beautiful, hand painted porcelain plaques inset in the sides and decorated with floral motifs. The plaque in the centre depicts a lady dressed in a period costume and a cherub, both set against classical architecture.
The top of the clock is decorated with an ormolu statue of Cupid Riding Dolphin – based on a famous painting by Peter Paul Ruben.
This fine clock has an 8 day striking movement and is supplied with its pendulum, bell and key.
