Lacquer

Lacquer is a wood finish, which can be clear or coloured, that produces a hard, durable finish which can range from high gloss to ultra matte. It is also found in ‘lacquer paint’ which describes a paint that dries to a harder and smoother surface than with ordinary paint.

Lacquerware refers to a range of techniques used to decorate metal, wood and other surfaces,some of which can involve applying many layers of lacquer and then carving into the surface.
