Magnificent Antique Dining Tables from Regent Antiques
For over four decades, antique dining tables, especially of the Regency, William IV, and Victorian Periods, have been one of our specialties.
As one of the UK’s leading antique furniture dealers, we always strive to maintain an extensive inventory of antique furniture, and in particular antique dining tables, for our discerning corporate clientele as well as private collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.
In this post, we will walk you through some of our finest new arrivals in the antique dining table category. From historical provenance to exceptional craftsmanship, these pieces are sure to impress.
We will start with this absolutely stunning antique William IV dining table, circa 1830 in date, with a provenance from the historic Yester Estate in Scotland.
This historic antique table is made of solid flame mahogany, is extendable with two leaves of about 65cm in length, and can comfortably seat ten people. It is offered with a superb set of 10 bar back dining chairs, and would also make for a stunning conference or boardroom table.
Rectangular in shape, with the top featuring a rounded edge over a plain frieze consistent with the style of the period, this table is raised on four hand-carved and turned polygonal baluster tapered legs with brass cappings and castors.
Next, we’re thrilled to offer a truly monumental and rare Victorian dining table, crafted from Pollard oak and dating to circa 1860.
This historic table has a provenance from the Regimental Headquarters of the famous Hallamshire Battalion, who were from 1859-1968 at Endcliffe Hall in Sheffield, and is offered with a set of fourteen Irish oak open armchairs, circa 1840 in date.
This amazing table has no less than seven extending leaves, and once they are all added, the table is 18ft (534cm) long and can comfortably seat twenty. The seven leaves can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion by a special winding mechanism, labelled Joseph Fitter, Patentee, Britannia Works, 210 Cheapside, Birmingham.
Finally, in the spirit of the Roaring Twenties, we present a striking Art Deco burr walnut dining suite, attributed to the world-renowned cabinet makers Harry & Lou Epstein.
This exquisite set includes the original matching set of eight cloud-back dining chairs, also from circa 1920—a truly rare find.
The rectangular-shaped table has a stunning burr walnut figured top with rounded corners and stands on an attractive U-shaped base.
The set of eight chairs (two armchairs and six side chairs), all with curved backs that show the figured grain of the burr walnut beautifully, have all been reupholstered in a stunning cream leather.
