Let’s begin with a stunning vintage globe crafted by Donati of Milan, Italy, circa 1960. This remarkable piece is designed in the 17th-century style, written entirely in Latin, and rests upon an ornate walnut and gilded tripod stand.

This stunning piece is 16 inches in diameter and will make a magnificent addition to any library or drawing room. It has been beautifully cleaned and waxed in our workshops and is simply magnificent to behold.

Next, we turn our attention to a truly monumental piece: an 18ft antique George III triple pillar dining table, circa 1780, accompanied by a set of 12 George III revival dining chairs by the renowned Robert Strahan of Dublin.

The table features elegant simplicity, with straight, unbroken surfaces and lines.  It has two leaves that can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion and it stands on three ‘gun barrel’ turned pillars on tripod bases with sabre legs terminating in brass toes and castors.

The table top is of a stunning Cubanflame mahogany and all of the leaves are original.  The chairs have been superbly hand-crafted from solid flame mahogany with beautifully-shaped and carved backrests, raised on Chippendale style carved-shaped legs terminating in ball and claw feet. The  set comprises ten side chairs and a pair of armchairs, all with decorative floral needlework upholstered seats.

These chairs, with their distinctive shell backs, draw inspiration from a famous design supplied by Giles Grendey for Henry Hoare at Stourhead, Wiltshire. They are documented in The Dictionary of English Furniture (1954, vol. I, p.275, fig. 154) by R. Macquoid and R. Edwards. The rich mahogany color, striking grain, and fine patina make this ensemble a timeless addition to any dining room.

Finally, we present a breathtaking late 18th-century Dutch walnut and marquetry display cabinet, dating to circa 1780. This vitrine is an extraordinary example of artistry and design.

Below, the bombe-fronted base is fitted with two half-width drawers above two full-width drawers, flanked by richly inlaid canted side panels. Every surface is adorned with hand-cut marquetry depicting flowers, foliage, cornucopias, and birds, creating a visual feast.

Original ormolu handles and working locks with keys complete this magnificent piece, a true testament to 18th-century Dutch craftsmanship. Whether displayed in a living room or a grand hallway, this vitrine is a work of art that commands admiration.
