Tiffany Lamp
A Tiffany Lamp denotes a lamp with a lampshade made of glass designed by the Tiffany design studio run by Louis Comfort Tiffany.
The most famous versions of these lamps are made from leaded stained glass and are considered as fine Art Nouveau pieces.
The first lamp appeared in 1895 and each one was handcrafted by individual skilled craftsmen as opposed to being massed produced by machines. The actual design was done by an artist named Clara Driscoll who was previously unrecognised until she was identified by Martin Eidelberg as the master designer in 2007. Previously it was thought the lamps had been designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany himself.
