Extraordinary Antique Dining Tables Available for Sale
Victorian dining tables are a particular favourite with their solid structure and extensive use of solid timbers, notably mahogany. These pieces are recognisable by their curvaceous, wiry lines and carefully-carved details and a leaf system to extend the table.
To start off, we are pleased to present to you this stunning antique Victorian pollard oak extending dining table. This stunning dining table, from circa 1870 in date, will stand out in your dining or conference room and will definitely become a key piece in your furnishing collection.
This amazing table has seven leaf extensions and can comfortably seat sixteen. It has been hand-crafted from solid oak and the D ended rectangular top is in Pollard oak which is seen in the intricate burr on the table top. The seven leaves can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion by a special winding mechanism, labelled Joseph Fitter, Patentee, Britannia Works, 210 Cheapside, Birmingham. The leaves can be easily stored away when not required.
The table is raised on six elegant carved and turned and fluted legs that terminate in their original brass caps and castors.
Whatever you choose to use it for, this large and impressive table will not let you down and will always be as versatile and useful as you need it to be.
Antique Regency dining tables were first produced during the reign of George IV although the style has continued to be reproduced, and to influence designs, right up until the present day. These tables were often made of mahogany or burr walnut and featured rosewood and zebrawood veneers, brass decorations, metal paws and lion masks and they were considerably more elaborate than the previous generation of furniture.
A perfect example is this elegant antique Regency Revival triple pillar dining table, 19th century in date. The table has two leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion and it stands on three “gun barrel” triple leg bases which are fitted with brass toes and castors.
The table top is of beautiful flame mahogany and there is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining table which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection, and a talking point with guests at meal times.
This antique dining table is in really excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished and waxed in our workshops.
Next, we offer a wide range of the finest William IV dining tables. These stunning pieces are mostly in mahogany and represent classic English dining furniture.
Here we have a wonderful antique flame mahogany extending dining table, dating from circa 1880.
This is a beautiful antique late Victorian mahogany extending dining table by the renowned Victorian cabinet makers, Edwards and Roberts. This amazing table can seat sixteen people in comfort and has been hand-crafted from beautiful solid flame mahogany.
The beautiful flame mahogany top is oval shaped and has six leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion by a special winding mechanism. The leaves can be easily removed and stored away when not required.
The table is raised on five hand carved turned and reeded tapering legs that terminate in their original brass and porcelain cup castors.
