This is an elegant antique Regency Period dining suite comprising a Regency Period dining table, Circa 1820 in date and a set of eight chairs.
The table top is of beautiful flame mahogany and there is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining table which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection, and a talking point with guests at meal times.The table is of rectangular form with rounded corners and a reeded edge. It is raised on twin "gun barrel" turned columns on quadruple swept sabre leg bases which are fitted with brass acanthus leaf decorated toes and castors. It has one leaf that can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion.
The table comes with a set of eight side chairs, the oval backs with shaped and pierced sun rondal that feature beautiful hand carved bow and leaf decoration. The drop in seats seats have just been reupholstered in a sumptuous teal damask. They are raised on elegant square tapering legs that terminate in spade feet.
The botanical name for the mahogany this suite is made of is Swietenia Macrophylla and this type of mahogany is not subject to CITES regulation.
In excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished waxed and the chairs reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
