D.F. stands for Doppelfernrohr, which is German for "double telescope." The polished steel rangefinder flak binoculars were used to locate enemy aircraft and direct accurate anti-aircraft flak fire artillery at them and they were also used on U-boats and fortifications.
Made in polished steel and aluminium, with ribbed adjustable lens housings and a horizontal adjusting knob, the right side stamped ‘D.F.10X80’, with maker's code DKL.
